The system provides real-time visibility of government assets, reducing the risk of loss, misappropriation, or underutilization. This directly supports the policy’s mandate for prudent stewardship of public assets. DAMS also improves operational efficiency by replacing manual, paper-based processes with automated workflows. Asset tracking, reporting, and reconciliation are streamlined, resulting in reduced administrative burden and improved accuracy of asset registers. This efficiency contributes to better compliance with financial reporting and audit requirements. The system supports improved financial management and value for money by enabling MDAs to monitor asset performance and maintenance costs over time. With access to reliable data, organizations can make informed decisions regarding asset maintenance, replacement, or disposal, ensuring optimal use of public funds in line with policy objectives. Additionally, DAMS enhances policy compliance and standardization across the public sector. By embedding asset management rules and controls within the system, it promotes consistent application of the Government of Jamaica Asset Management Policy (2020), as well as related financial and procurement regulations.
